NIRA International School was founded in 2013 by a Canadian–Khmer family as a private international school and has since expanded from early years into primary and lower‑secondary provision. The school joined the IPC learning community early in its development and has aligned its programmes with internationally recognised pathways while continuing to offer dual‑language options. NIRA delivers the Cambridge Pathway for Primary and Lower Secondary and operates a multilingual model that combines Cambridge with either the Cambodian national curriculum or a French programme. The school is privately owned and operated by its founding organisation and has developed its campus and facilities to support that growth.
NIRA describes a multicultural student body and campus life that includes more than 20 nationalities and a mix of local and international families. The campus is organised around a large central garden and sport complex and offers regular extracurricular activities such as swimming, music, sports clubs and language classes. The school schedules school trips, inter‑school competitions and after‑school programmes that are intended to extend learning beyond the classroom and to bring families together for community events.
The school website emphasises partnership with parents and regular family participation in school life, noting opportunities for volunteering, classroom support and involvement in events; it also promotes parent communications through its school app. These references indicate an active parent community that helps support school events.
NIRA International School is an international day school in Phnom Penh at 17B Street 105, Sangkat Toul Sangke, Khan Russey Keo. The Early Years Centre uses the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) while Primary and Lower Secondary follow the Cambridge Pathway; the school states its Cambridge programme is integrated with Cambridge IGCSE and A Level programmes and, from Grade 1, families may choose a dual route combining Cambridge with either the Cambodian national curriculum or the school's French programme (Label FrancEducation). The campus is arranged around a central garden and lists a swimming pool, sports court/complex, library, music room, computer suite (with a lunchtime computer club) and a science laboratory. The school publishes an admissions process that includes an observational assessment and orientation support for new families, and it offers personalised campus tours by appointment.
