Treehouse International School was founded in 2015 by Clive and Laura Butler, English nationals who have worked in Cambodia since 2013. The school operates as a private international community in Siem Reap, delivering a British National Curriculum adapted for a multi-national student body. The founders and leadership have guided the school's development since their Cambodia involvement began in 2013. In August 2023, a High School campus opened in central Siem Reap, extending provision to older students and aligning with Cambridge International examinations (IGCSE). The founders' long-standing involvement in Cambodia underpins the school's growth and its expansion to higher levels of study.
Treehouse International School describes itself as a multi-national community that adapts the British National Curriculum for its diverse student body. Senior leadership includes Head of Operations Rasmey Ly; Early Years & Primary Headteacher Saskia Erasmus; High School Headteacher Heather Korm; and School Founders Clive & Laura Butler, who have guided the school since 2013. The Early Years facilities include a secret garden, a music and dance studio, outdoor classrooms, a Khmer house, outdoor kitchen, sand and water play areas, swings, tunnels and a treehouse. The 2025-2026 calendar shows the school observes Cambodian cultural holidays such as Pchum Ben Week, Commemoration of the King's Father, King's Birthday Week, Khmer New Year, Water Festival Week, and Peace Day Cambodia, reflecting community and cultural integration.
Public information about a formal PTA is not published on Treehouse International School's site. Parent involvement appears to be facilitated through regular school communications and direct engagement with staff. The School Calendar shows cultural and public holidays that provide opportunities for parent participation around these events, such as Pchum Ben Week, Khmer New Year, Water Festival Week and Peace Day Cambodia. There are no publicly described PTA committees or fundraising activities. If needed, inquiries can be directed through the school administration for further clarification.
