STEAM Projects integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, promoting critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving. Term 1 features the Dual Egg Drop Challenge, where students design protective devices and compare physics concepts such as air resistance and impact, including 'Survivor' and 'Speedster' models. Term 2 explores Recycled Rhythms, creating musical instruments from recyclable materials to blend creativity with scientific inquiry. Term 3 tasks teams with building the tallest free-standing structure from 1,000 popsicle sticks, testing balance, geometry, and material properties while recording reflections on design choices.
The Gifted Arts Program provides specialized learning paths in Dance, Drama, Music, Screen Arts, and Visual Arts. Students showcase abilities through performances and exhibitions led by instructors and guest artists. The Arts Pathway includes Ontario Secondary School Diploma credits and completion of the Arts Pathway Certificate, along with preparing an Arts Portfolio. Laureate College supports the arts through Art Studios, the Burlington Children's Choir, a Photography Contest, and Student Portfolios.
French Club provides language practice and cultural fun. Weekly Beyond the Classroom clubs include Volunteer Club, Games & Chess Club, Boxing & Fitness, Outdoors Club, Golf Club, and Current Events. French is included in the Term 1 Schedule, with Tuesday activities including French.
Volunteer Club engages students in community service projects. Games & Chess Club develops strategic thinking and social interaction. Boxing & Fitness builds strength and confidence. Outdoors Club and Golf Club provide outdoor recreation and field experiences.
Service-learning opportunities allow K-12 students to engage with the Burlington, Hamilton, and Halton Region communities, applying classroom knowledge in real-world settings. These opportunities include partnerships with organizations such as Burlington Green Environmental Association, Burlington Food Bank, The Salvation Army Burlington, Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga, Halton Food for Thought, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton, Carizon Family and Community Services, The Good Shepherd Centres, Halton Women's Place, Burlington Public Library, and Burlington Parks and Recreation. The focus is environmental sustainability, food security, mentorship, and community outreach.
Duke of Edinburgh Award Program participants work on volunteering and athletic goals, with planning for an Adventurous Journey. Student Council elections have concluded with a new leadership team representing peers. House STEAM projects encourage collaboration and creative problem-solving across all four houses.
Laureate College's Outdoor Education program leverages the school's proximity to the Bruce Trail and Niagara Escarpment, offering regular learning outside the classroom. Backyard Harvest established an on-campus farm where students assist with planting and harvesting, learning about sustainability. The Bruce Trail Exploration guides hikes to study local ecology while building outdoor skills. The Outdoors Club provides nature walks and outdoor activities, and Snowshoeing offers winter outdoor experiences that build endurance and teamwork.
