Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Laureate College sits on a 50-acre campus at 1921 Snake Road, Burlington, Ontario, on the historic former Motherhouse of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, completed in 1927. The Motherhouse site began with a corner stone laid in 1926 and later included a chapel (1956) and other facilities as education and community life grew. Laureate College purchased the campus in July 2022, and a Grand Opening ceremony on September 30, 2023 marked its rebirth as a modern STEAM learning center. In September 2025 Laureate College launched its Junior School (K–G8), creating a unified K–12 learning community. Today the campus offers the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) at the senior level and more than 50 after-school clubs, along with co-op and experiential learning, a culture of character, stewardship, and community, and a setting near the Niagara Escarpment.

Community

Laureate College fosters a vibrant community through a calendar of signature annual events that celebrate learning, creativity, and community. Immersive excursions to Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City bring Canadian history to life, and events include the Candlelight Concert in December, the Mother's Day Concert, and the spring Student Art Showcase. Elementary Outreach provides opportunities for students to mentor younger learners, and the Photography Contest showcases visual arts from across the Laureate community. The Bruce Trail excursion and winter snowshoeing further connect students with the local landscape and learning outside the classroom.
