The STEM Stream explores innovation through science, technology, and problem-solving and includes Coding Club, Bioengineering Club, Chemical Engineering Club, Math Competition Club, and Neuroscience/Psychology Club. The Engineering Stream offers Bioengineering Club, Coding Club, and Chemical Engineering Club.
Arts Stream brings together visual, performing, and media arts. Clubs include Visual Arts Club, Broadcasting / Media Club, and Drama Club. These clubs enable students to create, perform, and produce work as part of the arts program.
UIS Clubs are organized into streams that foster collaboration and peer engagement. The Sports Stream includes Basketball Club, Badminton Club, Soccer Club, Swimming Club, Skating Club, and Volleyball Club. The Student Council represents the student voice and organizes school-wide events.
Volunteering Club provides opportunities for community service and connects students with local organizations. Students identify and participate in different community service opportunities through volunteering activities. Volunteering fosters social responsibility within the UIS community.
The Student Council leads school-wide events and initiatives under the guidance of a Council Advisor. Roles include Treasurer, Event Coordinator, Student Ambassador, and Alumni Coordinator. The UIS materials describe leadership development and professional skills as outcomes of club involvement.
Sports clubs promote teamwork, discipline, and school pride. The Sports Stream includes Basketball, Badminton, Soccer, Swimming, Skating, and Volleyball clubs. These activities support fitness, well-being, and a healthy, active school culture.
Urban International School (UIS) is a private high school in Canada for students aged 12 to 18. It follows the Canadian Curriculum with Middle School (grades 7–8) and High School (grades 9–12). Middle School covers eight subject areas—Arts, Core French, Health and Physical Education, Language, Science & Technology, History, Geography—and a daily schedule of Language Arts, History/Geography, Math, Science & Technology, and French. High School offers courses in Arts, Business & Management, Canadian & World Studies, Computer & Technology, English, Mathematics, Social Sciences & Humanities, and Sciences, with electives such as Visual Design and Introduction to Computer Programming. UIS provides University Stream and College Stream pathways, guided by an Academic Tracking System and offering options in Engineering, Science & Math, Arts, and Business, plus arts, languages and drama electives. Students pursue the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD): 18 compulsory credits, 12 optional credits, 40 hours of community involvement, and the OSSLT/OSSLC literacy requirement. Scholarships totaling over $1.266 million were awarded in 2024–25, with 2025 offers to Canadian universities.
