Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Bradford School was founded in 1954 as Braemar School by English women Inés McGaw de Russell, Dorothy Daer, and Amelia Roberts de Mollinger, and it was dedicated to educating girls within a Christian, humanist context open to all creeds. Its objective was to provide students with an education of the highest standard and to acquaint them with English culture and language, in a Christian context, with humanist values and open to all faiths. Bradford began as a basic school at Av. Los Leones 290; in 1970, with the support of parents, the school moved to its current address at Luis Pasteur 6335 and formed the Corporación Educacional Luis Pasteur, later becoming coeducational; Bradford has over 70 years of history. In 1981, the Corporación Educacional Luis Pasteur was founded as a nonprofit organization by parents; in 1988 the school's name was changed to Bradford School and the Corporation's name to Corporación Educacional Bradford to maintain and administer the school. From 1994 to 2002, infrastructure and technology were developed, including the central building in 1994; in 2012 the school began its postulation to the International Baccalaureate and incorporated the Diploma Programme, and in 2025 it expressed interest in implementing the IB Primary Years Programme.

Community

Bradford has a Parents Center (Centro de Padres) that invites family involvement and provides access to information and activities through a dedicated portal. The school runs Extracurricular Workshops each semester and provides a Workshop Protocol outlining the activities. A 2026 calendar highlights key dates for the year. The community spirit is expressed through the Bradford Family and the Bradford School Song, with a downloadable hymn.

Parent-Teacher Association

The Bradford School Parents Center serves as the main parent association and is accessible through the site via a link labeled Meet our Parents Center. Parents engage with the school through the Center, which coordinates Extracurricular Workshops (Talleres Extracurriculares) and provides a Workshop Protocol (Protocolo de Talleres). The site lists key dates for 2026 under Fechas clave 2026, and the Center emphasizes collaboration with the school to involve families in school life.
