Facilities Overview

The school has comprehensive infrastructure for academics, sports, and arts. It includes a stadium with natural grass and a tartan track. A 25-meter indoor heated pool and a gym support multiple sports. STEM labs, robotics lab, and a FabLab support hands-on learning, while the library on the fourth floor holds about 23,000 items in German, Spanish, and English.

Sports Facilities

Sports facilities support regular classes and extracurricular programs. The stadium has a natural grass field and a tartan track with stands. A 25-meter indoor pool is heated. A gym accommodates artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, basketball, futsal, volleyball, and handball, plus an outdoor multi-use court.

Academic Facilities

STEM spaces include biology, chemistry, and physics laboratories. Technology rooms and a robotics lab, opened in 2019, support hands-on learning. A FabLab provides digital fabrication tools. The library on the fourth floor houses German, Spanish, and English materials and computers.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The school offers a broad range of extracurricular activities. Students participate in rock and instrumental bands and various music ensembles. Robotics and science competitions support STEM learning. Ferienheim in Limache hosts experiential learning and community events.

Colégio Alemán de Valparaíso is a nonprofit private school in Valparaíso, Chile, founded in 1857 with strong ties to Germany. It offers the German-language International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (GIB) for Grades 10–12, including Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay (4,000 words) and CAS, within five subject groups: Spanish Language and Literature; German and English as foreign languages; History in German; Biology in German; Mathematics. The school promotes biculturalism through Immersion education from early years and a Humanities program (PH). Since 2015 it has implemented a Competency-Based Curriculum from early childhood through IV Básico, focusing on biopsychosocial development, collaboration, autonomy and meaningful learning. Facilities include a stadium with natural grass and a tartan track, a 25-meter indoor heated pool, a gym, STEM labs, a robotics lab, a FabLab and a library. It is part of the DAS network, renewed the Colegio Alemán de Excelencia seal in 2018, and offers exchange programs and immersion.
