History

Craighouse School is a bilingual, co-educational school with Chilean and British traditions, serving Pre-School through Secondary levels. It is part of the Chilean Educational System and has been recognised by the Ministry of Education as cooperative, through Decree 19,335 of December 5, 1961. Since 2008 Craighouse is a Full IB Continuum School. It is a founding member of the Association of British Schools of Chile (ABSCH), a founding active member of the Latin American Heads Conference (LAHC), and a Round Square School.

Community

Old Girls & Boys Association: With more than 60 years of history, Craighouse graduates become Old Girls & Old Boys after Year 12. The Craighouse Old Girls & Boys Association was legally established on May 10, 2014, with statutes approved and the first board elected. It aims to bring together alumni from all generations, fostering friendship, mutual support, and opportunities for gathering, learning, collaboration, and community recreation, while supporting the school's principles and future. Today it represents more than 5,000 former pupils and continues to grow its networks, with alumni contact via exalumnos@craighouse.cl. COBS & COGS is a sports club founded in 1972 by former pupils for rugby, later including field hockey; it develops rugby and hockey at adult, youth, and developmental levels and is affiliated with the Chilean Rugby Federation, ARUSA, and Fehoch, serving a community of about 2,000 people.

Parent-Teacher Association

CARE is a volunteer parents' organisation that develops social projects, initiatives, and charitable service activities within Craighouse School's Educational Project. Its vision is to shape leaders with Craighouse's core values who contribute to building a more inclusive and compassionate society. Its mission is to work alongside the school and families to instill in children a spirit of solidarity, service, and commitment to local and global realities, through formative actions that promote social maturity. CARE collaborates with the Craighouse community to undertake social projects across different stages of children's education, fostering commitment and social awareness. The Parents Association has officers including President Mariana Vallejo, Vice President Francisco Araneda, Treasurer Christian Rey, Pro Treasurer Michelle Crew, Secretary Sara Romero, Pro Secretary Javier Abud, and Director Felipe Valdés.

Craighouse School is a private bilingual IB World School in Chile offering the IB continuum from Pre-Kinder to Year 12. The Primary Years Programme runs PreK to Year 4 with English immersion, supported by two teachers in the early years and specialist teachers for Spanish, Music, Religious Education and Sport. In Year 1, a tutor supports core subjects while specialists cover other areas. The Middle Section prepares students for the Senior years, and the Senior Section combines the IB Programme with the Chilean national curriculum. Little Darlings Playgroup provides bilingual education for the youngest learners. The school sits on a 24-hectare campus with more than 29,000 square metres of built space, including extensive Primary, Middle and Senior facilities, a large Inquiry Centre, theatre, recording studio, multiple music and Visual Arts studios, and four Technology spaces. The two-level Sports Hall seats 1,000, with multiple pitches and a dedicated mountain-bike circuit opened in 2021. Craighouse is a founding member of ABSCH and LAHC and a Round Square School.
