The German School Sankt Thomas Morus was founded in 1952 with the mission of offering children and youths a distinctive form of education based on the principles and values of the Catholic Church, with openness to other religions. The school is supported under the Cultural Covenant (1960) and the Basic Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation (1969) signed between the Governments of Chile and the Federal Republic of Germany, and it adheres to provisions that facilitate cultural exchange between both countries.
