Lincoln International Academy was founded in March 1977 by Robert G. Seaquist and Verónica Caroca Cerón, with the first campus on Luis Thayer Ojeda Street in Providencia and 137 students. Verónica Caroca became headmistress in 1991, and her son John F. Seaquist has served as headmaster since 2001. A multidisciplinary Comprehensive Support Department (DAI) was created in 2003, and the Chicureo campus opened in 2006, giving the school two campuses in Lo Barnechea and Chicureo. From 2021 the Finnish International Curriculum began to be implemented and from 2024 the school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
The LINTAC community is diverse and multicultural, and values a comprehensive education. Love is a core value; the school promotes discipline, perseverance, honesty, joy, respect, and responsibility in its students. In 2024 LINTAC became an International Baccalaureate World School and offers the Diploma Programme, enabling holistic development and university access in Chile and abroad. The school is the first in South America to teach the Finnish International Curriculum (FIS), and emphasizes learning, respect for diversity, and leadership for society and the environment.
Two Parents' Associations operate at Lincoln: Pa Lo Barnechea and Pa Chicureo. The Lo Barnechea Parents' Association is an independent organization that aims to positively impact the Lo Barnechea community; its 2023–2026 Board includes Silvana Merino (President), Mina Hyun (Vice President), Carola Castillo (Treasurer) and Sandra Toro (Secretary); contact cpalb@lintac.cl. Its objectives include building a principled community, improving communication with the school, promoting cooperation and programs to nurture students, maintaining dialogue with the school, and developing initiatives for the holistic development of students and their environment; campaigns in 2023 included Teacher's Day gifts, 4th-grade award presentations, vaccination day, cultural diversity celebrations, Easter campaign, Spirit's Week for Fundación Par, the “Apoya a tu hermano” drive, book campaigns, Lincoln's Day and Mother's Day, and talks on alcohol and drugs. The Chicureo Parents' Association was created in October 2020; its Board for 2020–2024 includes Andrea Gatica (President), María José Campino (Vice President), Allison Huckaby (Secretary), Lorena Cifuentes (Treasurer), and Marcela Slimming and Marcela Quezada as Directors; contact cpach@lintac.cl, with motto “Generate Community.” Its mission includes integrating parents, promoting family–school bonding, forging local alliances for well-being, representing parents in dialogue with authorities, and addressing concerns in academic, coexistence, and sports areas; campaigns in 2023 included collecting caps for Fundación Damas de Café, Family Day, Lost & Found, uniforms and school-supply sales, coordination with the school on activities, participation in local social activities, support to entrepreneurs, graduation events, and Christmas toy campaigns.
Lincoln International Academy is a bilingual school in Chile serving students aged 2 to 18 across two campuses, Lo Barnechea and Chicureo. The school offers two international curricula: the Finnish International Curriculum (FIS) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). In 2024 it became an IB World School delivering the Diploma Programme, and it is the first school in South America to teach the Finnish International Curriculum. The English-language program is complemented by a bilingual environment, with native English teachers and Cambridge English certification, and about a quarter of students come from international backgrounds. The school emphasizes student well-being through the Integral Support Department (DAI) and Outdoor Education, and it supports a safe, respectful campus through KiVa anti-bullying initiatives. Extracurriculars include a broad sport and arts offering, with a 2024 Performing Arts classroom. The school prepares students for university and life beyond through enquiry-based learning and personalised support globally.
