Introduction

Chengdu Meishi International School (CMIS) offers the IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) alongside AP and the Chinese National Curriculum for students aged 6 to 18. Located in Chengdu's Hi-tech Zone, the 38-acre campus supports boarding and day programs with English and Chinese as languages of instruction. The school welcomes domestic and international students, and since 2009 has been authorized to offer all three IB programmes, with AP added in 2023. CMIS serves over 2,000 students, about 35% in the international division and 65% in the domestic division, providing a truly mixed environment for intercultural learning. Tuition fees (by programme / school division) — amounts are quoted in RMB per student per academic year

- Chinese‑curriculum division (小学 / 初中 / 高中):
- Tuition (学费): Primary (小学) RMB 33,000 per year; Middle (初中) RMB 32,000 per year; High (高中) RMB 34,000 per year.
- Additional annual charges shown on the school's fee table (see “Other costs” section below).

- Integrated Programmes / IB pathway (融合部 / IB‑DP intake example published by the school):
- Tuition (示例 for an IB intake published in the school's admissions notice): RMB 134,000 per year (IB‑DP intake). Boarding for that intake: RMB 1,800 per year; meals: card‑based (刷卡就餐); other fees charged as incurred.

Boarding / accommodation fees

- Chinese‑curriculum divisions: dormitory fee (住宿费) shown as RMB 1,200 per student per academic year.
- Integrated/IB example: dormitory fee listed as RMB 1,800 per year for the IB intake notice published by the school.

Other costs and mandatory charges (listed per academic year where shown)

- Chinese‑curriculum division (amounts per student per academic year):
- Living/meal budget (生活费): Primary RMB 8,000 per year; for middle and high school the school uses a card‑based meal system (刷卡就餐).
- “Agency/handling” fee (代管费 — covers teaching materials, student insurance, bedding, activity fees, book fees, etc.): Primary RMB 2,700; Middle RMB 2,600; High RMB 2,600 per year.

- “Other fees” (其他费用): Primary RMB 8,000; Middle and High RMB 8,800 per year — designated for school‑specific education costs and charged according to actual needs.

- Integrated/IB pathway: the school's IB‑division notice states meals are card‑based and other fees are charged as actually incurred; the IB example lists tuition and dormitory figures but notes other costs are assessed as required.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- All published amounts are presented as RMB per student per academic year. Families remit tuition and associated charges to the school's designated bank accounts; payment evidence is collected at student registration.
- The school provides bank remittance information (account name and specific Bank of China branch and account numbers) for China‑division and for the integrated programme; parents are asked to include the student's division, grade and name in the payment note. Proof of payment (paper or electronic receipt) is required at new‑student registration.

Boarding specifics and meals

- Boarding charges are listed separately (see amounts above). Meal services for middle and high school and for the Integrated/IB programme operate on a card‑based dining system (students pay by card at the canteen). Bedding and some boarding services are covered via the school's handling/agency fees or boarding package as described in the school notices.

Refund information

- The school's public fee notices present annual charge items and specify that some fees are charged according to actual occurrences; a general, detailed tuition refund schedule is not published within the school's fee notice pages. Refunds and any departure‑related reimbursements are administered according to the school's internal policies and administrative procedures.

Accepted payment methods and practical payment notes

- The school provides bank transfer (remittance) details (Bank of China, Chengdu High‑tech Development Zone branch) and asks remitters to include the student's division, grade and name in the payment note; the bank account numbers for China‑division and for the Integrated division are published in the school's fee notice.
- Meal payments operate via the school's campus meal card system (刷卡就餐) for applicable divisions. Other short‑term activity or service charges are typically collected according to the school's notices and registration procedures.

Summary — what to expect when budgeting

- For the Chinese‑curriculum divisions, budget items include: annual tuition (RMB 32,000–34,000 depending on grade), dormitory (RMB 1,200 if boarding), annual living/meal budget (RMB 8,000 shown for primary), agency/handling fees (RMB ~2,600–2,700), uniform (RMB ~1,400–1,600), and “other fees” (RMB 8,000–8,800) — all listed as per student per academic year.
- For the Integrated/IB pathway, published programme examples have shown annual tuition figures significantly higher than the Chinese‑division rates (an IB‑DP intake example lists RMB 134,000 per year plus boarding RMB 1,800), with meals on a card system and other costs charged as incurred. Confirm which programme (中国部 or 融合部/Integrated) applies to the student when calculating total annual cost.
