ISD provides support for students' social and emotional development through a Secondary Counseling Team that supports social, emotional, and academic wellbeing. ISD's Advisory is held twice weekly for all students, with topics that include growth mindset, stress management, and kindness. The Elementary and Secondary Counseling Teams have hosted a Bully Prevention Week to address cyberbullying and related issues.
ISD recognizes that many students come from backgrounds where English is not their first language. The staff provide support to attain English language proficiency. Core classes have English language goals as well as content goals to aid language development.

The International School of Dongguan (ISD) is an English-medium, co-educational day school located at 11 Jin Feng Nan Road in Nancheng District, Dongguan. ISD opened on 16 August 2012 and currently teaches from Early Childhood (Pre‑K) through Grade 12; the school is WASC‑accredited and an authorized IB Diploma Programme school that is pursuing the full IB continuum. The campus occupies a purpose-built site with facilities for arts, sciences, sports and a Maker Space (robotics, laser cutter and 3D printer); ISD also lists a dedicated indoor basketball court and outdoor sports pitches and courts. Tuition for 2025–2026 (single‑payment annual rates on the school's published fee schedule) ranges from RMB 126,000 (Pre‑K / JK band) up to RMB 233,600 (Grades 9–12).
