Community
NCIS aims to create a vibrant school community that will bring out the best in every child. With more than 20 nationalities represented, students from different countries and cultures meet and mix, creating a sense of identity and belonging. NCIS hosts a range of community events, including International Family Day, a multicultural festival drawing families from over a dozen countries and regions to NCIS. The 2025 International Family Day was themed 'Celebrating Family: A Rainbow of Cultures and Love' and featured activities such as primary students singing What a Wonderful World, cultural booths (Italian mask painting, Japanese tea ceremony, African drumming).

Admissions

2. Application forms and fee. NCIS requires parents to complete and sign the NCIS Student Application Form and the NCIS Medical History Form and submit them to the school. The non-refundable Application Fee is RMB 2,300. Payment does not guarantee admission.

3. Supporting documents. Academic records must be in English; translations are the parents' responsibility if records are not in English. One year of academic records is required for Grade 3 and below; two years are required for higher grades. A photocopy of both parents' and child's passport and visa information is required. Five passport photos are needed; vaccination records; records of any Special Educational Needs testing.

4. Language assessment. The Admission/Registration Office will schedule an English assessment for the applicant and, if needed, tests in Chinese and Mathematics for higher grades. An ESL support program may be provided for students with limited English proficiency, either within the regular class or in a separate class for at least one semester. The school reserves the right to limit the number of ESL students to 20% of each class.

5. Admission decision and notification. After the assessment, the Admission/Registration Office informs the parents of the outcome and whether admission can be offered.
