Introduction

United World College Changshu China, opened in 2015, is a co-educational residential school located on an island in Kuncheng Lake, Changshu. The school admits students aged 15 to 19, offering a Grade 10 Foundation Programme and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for Grades 11 and 12. The campus accommodates around 580 students from over 100 countries across 11 residential houses. Facilities include a theater, track and field stadium, swimming pool, and a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) center. A unique feature is the "Zhi Xing" co-curricular programme, which translates knowledge into social action through 90 student-led initiatives. Students engage in environmental activism, community service, and water sports like kayaking and dragon boat racing on the lake. Additionally, the Yushan Academy’s Centre for Chinese Programmes offers immersive experiences in traditional arts, including calligraphy, Guqin, lion dance, and a mandatory two-year Chinese language course for all students.
