Xi'an Hanova International School's Chanba Campus opened in August 2021. The campus includes Primary and Secondary buildings, the Sports Center, an Administrative building and on-campus staff housing. It is located in Xi'an's Chanba Ecological District, about 30 minutes from the city center and near Expo Park. The campus is designed to accommodate a growing student body and supports the IB Continuum for students from Early Years to Year 13. A bridge connects the Primary Years Building to the Secondary building, and the campus includes a dining hall, a commercial kitchen, and a library to support learning.
Sports facilities include the Sports Center with an on-site Pacific Coffee Shop; dedicated Early Years swimming pool and shower facilities; a swimming pool for Upper Primary to Secondary; student bathrooms and changing rooms at the pool location; a fitness center, activity rooms and staff offices; a full-size gymnasium with two regulation basketball courts. Outdoor Sports Arena features a regulation-size artificial turf football field, a six-lane running track, a long jump sand pit and a shot put throwing area, and field-length spectator seating.
Primary Years Building houses homeroom classrooms for Nursery through Year 6, Chinese language classrooms for those years, specialist music and art spaces, staff meeting rooms, a PYP dining hall and kitchen, and a spacious PYP Library. It also includes Early Years and Upper Years Activity rooms, an Early Years playground castle, sandbox and climbing hill, an upper-years playground, and a large open floor plan with six halls for exhibitions and indoor play, plus a bridge to the Secondary building. The MYP & DP Building provides a spacious library for MYP and DP, a design classroom and workshop, staff offices, homerooms for Years 7–13, a student commons, DP Commons Hall, language classrooms (Chinese, Spanish and Korean), specialist music and art spaces, a full-size Assembly hall for the Arts Programme, a Drama Black Box, and five full-size laboratories for biology, physics and chemistry.
Developing new skills and interests that enhance classroom learning, Hanova offers a balanced mix of sports, arts and social/international activities. All students are automatically enrolled in at least one extra-curricular activity per week, organized by Hanova teachers and staff, sometimes with parent and partner support. Activities typically include sports such as girls' and boys' basketball, volleyball, soccer, athletics and table tennis; arts such as music and vocal activities, ensembles and choirs, drama and dance, visual arts, crafts, photography and movie clubs; and social/international activities such as Eco-Warriors, Model United Nations, public speaking and debate, language clubs, strategy/board games (including chess), baking and cooking.
