Diploma Programme languages include English A Language and Literature; English B; Chinese A Language and Literature; Chinese B; Korean A Language and Literature; Spanish Ab Initio (with Group 1 and Group 2 language options and associated levels such as HL/SL for some languages and Ab Initio SL for others). The IB Learner Profile emphasizes the ability to communicate in more than one language.
Hanova offers a bilingual Diploma option within the IB Diploma Programme. Students in Year 13 may undertake the full IB Diploma or the Hanova Diploma, and both options use the same six subjects plus the IB core components (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity and Service). The Hanova Diploma requires fewer subjects and requires two languages chosen from Groups 1 and 2.
