YK Pao School was founded in 2007 by Anna Sohmen Pao, Madam Tan Fuyun and Philip Pao Sohmen as a non‑profit private school established in memory of Sir Yue‑Kong Pao. Early years saw a primary programme opened in a temporary building, followed by the permanent Wuding Primary campus (2010) and the inauguration of the Songjiang secondary campus (2011). The YK Pao School Foundation was created in 2010 to support the school's long‑term development, and over the following decade the school added a Hongqiao middle campus, a residential high school programme and formal accreditation from bodies including Cambridge, CIS and the IB/WASC processes. Pao School describes a mixed community of students and families from mainland China and overseas, with over 1,600 students across three campuses. Regular school events and programmes that engage families include counsellor‑parent coffee mornings, seasonal concerts and the school's Global Education Forum, and the school publishes reports of partnerships and outreach such as a connection with Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden for high‑school science work. YK Pao School is a non-profit bilingual (Chinese–English) school founded in 2007 that offers a Year 1–12 programme across three Shanghai campuses.
