Academic and Intellectual

The school prepares students for the top universities in Colombia and around the world, with access to national and international scholarships. Students graduate with both the Colombian high school diploma and the American high school diploma through Cognia accreditation. It is the only Santa Marta school offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The curriculum blends Colombian Ministry of Education standards, Common Core Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards, and emphasizes innovative pedagogy such as active learning, project work, and international benchmarks.

Arts and Creative

The school offers clubs and electives during X-Block, a weekly flexible period for tutoring and activities. Student-led clubs change every trimester and include Model UN, Yoga, Clay Crafts, Film Club, Volleyball, Basketball, Philosophy Club, Environment Committee, National Honor Society, Student Council, and College Counseling. After-school activities include Art, Baseball, Soccer, Ballet, Music, Challenge, Cheerleading, Basketball, Volleyball, Speaking, and Lab. Bureche participates in annual sports tournaments and cultural events with ACCAS member schools.

Cultural and Language

The school emphasizes internationalization and a multicultural environment, offering a triple credential: American, Colombian, and International. It is the only Santa Marta school with the International Baccalaureate. The program features a high level of bilingualism and international program pathways to study abroad. Graduates have opportunities at international universities due to the program's international orientation.

Social and Hobbies

X-Block provides a weekly window for small-group tutoring and activities led by students or teachers, with clubs changing each trimester. Clubs include Model UN, Yoga, Clay Crafts, Film Club, Philosophy Club, Environment Committee, NHS, Student Council, and College Counseling. Many students participate in additional after-school activities and sports. The school participates in annual sports tournaments and cultural events with ACCAS member schools.

Community and Service

80 hours of community service are required for graduation. National Honor Society membership involves an entrance process and completion of 50 extra hours of community service. NHS recognitions at graduation include NHS Graduate, Leadership, Perseverance and Dedication, Love and Dedication to the School, Best Classmate, Lifetime Graduate, Top 2 Students in each Subject Area, and Best ICFES results. The school's graduation requirements include completing at least 80 credits in Grades 9–12 and, for transfer students in high school years, showing English proficiency for eligibility for the double diploma.

Leadership and Professional

The school has a National Honor Society chapter that emphasizes leadership and service, with a rigorous entrance process and a required hours of community service. A College Counselor supports university admissions and career planning. Leadership opportunities include Student Council and College Counseling programs, aimed at preparing students for higher education and professional pathways. NHS membership includes an entrance process and 50 extra community-service hours.
