The Colegio Nueva Granada was founded in 1965 by Helena Echeverría de García, an educator by vocation and by heart, and started as a primary school that consistently achieved top academic results at local and departmental levels. Helena's daughter, Hortensia García de Mateus, supported the founder, and after Helena's death her brother Alberto García Echeverría continued the family legacy in administration, showcasing decades of discipline, loyalty, and honesty. In 2008 the school was acquired by the founder's grandchildren, Alberto and Luis Santiago García Cifuentes, who formed García Cifuentes Asociados SAS to own the school; from then, Luis Santiago García Cifuentes led the administration with a view toward greater challenges. The institution aims to continue progressing, supported by a team dedicated to shaping value-centered, academically excellent individuals who contribute to a better society through knowledge, action, and coexistence.
