The Diploma Programme culminates with IB exams, offering a pathway to a double degree through a multilingual core and chosen profiles.
The school offers a holistic education with special emphasis on art, music and sport. Cultural and artistic activities are promoted through exchanges and the staging of musical works with other schools in the Aburrá Valley. From Prekindergarten to Klasse 12, Sports is a subject in the curriculum, with instruction in German through Klasse 4. Emphasis is placed on track and field, volleyball, swimming and basketball, and school delegations participate in the National Games and the Humboldt Games. Cultural, academic and sports exchanges include the staging of musical works with Aburrá Valley schools and field trips focused on higher education and art.
The Environmental and Cultural Training Project in Isla Fuerte (Colombia) gives students the opportunity to share and develop social projects with local children and to carry out activities such as diving.

Deutsche Schule Medellín is a nonprofit German international school in Medellín, sponsored by the German government and part of the German Schools Abroad network (ZfA).
