An environment for great experiences. The campus is a space for learning in contact with nature. We are a German School Abroad, endorsed by the German Government and recertified as an Excellent German School Abroad. The campus promotes a comprehensive education that includes the arts, music, and sports.
Sports are a central part of the curriculum with special emphasis on track and field, volleyball, swimming and basketball. In Sports ATL, students can develop skills in these and other disciplines such as taekwondo, soccer, and gymnastics. The school's delegations participate in the National Games among German schools in Colombia and in the Humboldt Games.
The academic program spans 14 school years, divided into four stages: Kindergarten, Grundschule, Mittelstufe and Oberstufe. In Kindergarten, two homeroom teachers per group support bilingual development. In Grundschule, bilingual reading and writing begins, with German-taught subjects including Arts, Sports and Mathematics (DFU); the Little Scientists methodology is used in Natural Sciences. In Mittelstufe, English is introduced; there is a three-week trip to Germany in Klasse 6, and in Klasse 10 there is a longer immersion. In Oberstufe, German History is taught in German, and students prepare for the Deutsches Sprachdiplom I (DSD I) and II (DSD II); the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) is offered in multilingual modality (GIB). The three-language approach includes Spanish, German and English, enabling access to German universities and international study pathways.
ATL leisure activities are offered by our three schools—Music, Arts and Sports—with more than thirty options. The Music program includes instruments and projection groups such as String Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Choir and Rock Band, and features events like Talent Shows (Die Talentschau) and Musiknacht. Arts activities are integrated through cultural projects and an Art Show. Sports ATL activities expand opportunities with disciplines beyond core PE and include taekwondo, soccer and gymnastics; cultural, academic and sports exchanges, field trips, tournaments and friendly matches supplement the program.
