Facilities Overview

Marymount Barranquilla operates two campuses: Preschool in Barranquilla and the main campus in Sabanilla, Puerto Colombia. The Preschool has spacious classrooms, a Body Movement room, a computer room, an oratory, and two playgrounds with recreation areas. The Elementary and High School buildings on the Sabanilla campus sit on a large site and include 24 classrooms, a complete science laboratory, a chapel, and four specialized rooms for music, dance, art and theater. The Elementary building also includes a multipurpose room and a knowledge and technology center, while the High School building features 26 classrooms with integrated technology, spaces for art, drama, music and dance, three double-height laboratories, a library and a Senior Lounge. The campus also includes a sports complex with a 25-meter swimming pool, soccer, tennis, softball and baseball fields, and an enclosed coliseum for volleyball and basketball, a recreational area for active learning, and a nursing infirmary on site.

The facilities support a broad range of physical activities and extracurricular sports across the school community.

Academic Facilities

High School has two floors with 26 classrooms designed to support collaborative work, each approximately 100 square meters in size and equipped with an integrated audio and video system that includes two speakers, an interactive videobeam and a touch screen. There are dedicated spaces for art, drama, music and dance, three double-height laboratories, two multipurpose rooms and a library to support learning. The Elementary building contains 24 classrooms, a complete science laboratory, a chapel, and four specialized rooms for music, dance, art and theater, plus a second-floor multipurpose room and a knowledge and technology center. Classrooms are equipped with an integrated audiovisual system to support varied teaching and learning activities, and Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories are designed for hands-on practice and meet national and international standards.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The Academic Extension promotes a comprehensive training program that complements the curriculum through co-curricular and extracurricular sports, artistic, social and cultural experiences. It currently leads MACC, Student Clubs and Organizations, Semilleros, Electives, Exchanges, Explorations and the Eagles Camp summer camp. MACC (Marymount Athletic and Cultural Club) offers sports and music programs outside the classroom. Clubs and Student Organizations foster entrepreneurial leadership and social service. Exchanges and Seedbeds broaden horizons with cultural, sports and academic exchanges and workshops. Eagles Camp provides a summer program to develop leadership, autonomy, confidence and friendships.

The campus network includes a Preschool in Barranquilla and a site in Sabanilla, offering modern science laboratories, a library, and dedicated spaces for music, dance, art, and theatre. The school has a 25-meter swimming pool, a coliseum for volleyball and basketball, and a knowledge and technology center to support projects. The curriculum blends national and international standards. Since 2019, Cambridge courses in English, Science and Mathematics have been taught; English Social Studies follows the AERO Standards; French follows CEFR; Physical Education follows NASPE; Art uses NAfME; Library uses AASL; Technology develops ISTE standards; Religion aligns with the Episcopal Conference. Instruction is bilingual (English and Spanish) from early years. In high school, students may pursue Advanced Mathematics and Engineering, Advanced Biology and Science, or Advanced Economics, Humanities and Arts. The NOVA program provides personalized options for achievers.
