Founded in 1961, The English School is a co-educational, bilingual day school located on Calle 170 in northern Bogotá. Serving approximately 1,300 students from ages two to eighteen, the institution is the only school in the city to offer all four International Baccalaureate frameworks: the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, Diploma Programme, and Career-related Programme (CP). Instruction is primarily delivered in English and Spanish, with French introduced in Year 3. A distinctive element of the curriculum is the CP, which incorporates vocational training courses—such as Prototype Design, Digital Marketing, and Cultural Management—accredited by UPAEP university in Mexico. The campus features specialized infrastructure including a makerspace equipped with robotics kits, design and technology laboratories, and The English Coliseum for athletic events. Beyond daily academics, students participate in the TESMUN Model United Nations, TEDx events, and the Green Team environmental initiative.
