Academic and Intellectual

AIS provides after-school activities and field trips that broaden learning beyond the classroom. The after-school program includes MUN, which develops research, critical thinking, and public speaking skills. Field trips take students to national theaters, museums, volcanoes, waterfalls, and other culturally and scientifically significant locations, reinforcing classroom learning. Camps in elementary through high school emphasize teamwork, self-confidence, and experiential learning.

Arts and Creative

The school offers after-school arts and creative programs including Acting club, Choir, Guitar, Percussion Ensemble, Art, and Needle Felting. These activities provide opportunities for performance, music-making, visual arts, and hands-on crafts. The program fosters creativity and collaboration through regular rehearsals and informal performances.

Cultural and Language

The After-School Program offers a wide range of sports and hobbies, including Gymnastics, Soccer, Tennis, Karate, Volleyball, Basketball, and more. Some activities run on a year-to-year basis, while others change each semester; after-school activities run from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm. Activities foster social interaction, teamwork, and personal interests.

Community and Service

The National Honor Society (NHS) highlights scholarship, service, leadership, and character. The NHS chapter supports local community organizations including Hogar Montiel, Fundación Cuidados Paliativos de Belén, and Fundación Hogar para Ancianos Alfredo and Delia Gonzales.

Leadership and Professional

The National Honor Society emphasizes leadership, service, and character. AIS offers a College Preparation class from 10th grade and a college counseling program with workshops, university visits, and college fairs. A dedicated college counselor assists with applications, scholarships, and resume-building, and AIS is a member of the International Association of College Admission Counseling (IACAC).

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

AIS emphasizes physical activity through its sports program, including high school basketball and volleyball with competition in Pacific-level tournaments, and soccer for all ages in partnership with Ronaldo Fonseca Soccer Academy. Overnight camps foster teamwork, self-confidence, and outdoor skills, with activities emphasizing respectful interaction with nature and a healthy lifestyle. After-school options include gymnastics, tennis, karate, and other fitness-oriented activities.
