Instruction spans from kindergarten through Sekundarstufe with national (Bachillerato) and German (Abitur) diplomas available. The school provides direct daily contact with German and enriches learning with German-language activities outside class, and supports international study through exchanges.
The Humboldt Schule is a bicultural, tri-language school offering instruction in German, Spanish, and English. It provides education from kindergarten through secondary levels, including a pathway to the German Abitur and the Costa Rican Bachillerato. The school emphasizes daily access to the German language and intercultural learning beyond the classroom.
Student exchanges and cross-cultural programs are part of Humboldt's offerings. There is a longstanding German student exchange for 10th-grade students, including a week-long trip to Berlin with university visits and cultural experiences. The United States exchange for 11th grade includes study with host families in the USA and time in an American school. In addition, a culture-and-language trip to Germany is offered for 6th graders (two-and-a-half weeks) in Cologne and near Heidelberg.
