The Ostrava International School is an English-medium school serving almost 200 students from Early Years through the IB Diploma Programme. Its Early Years Centre accepts children aged three to five, followed by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. TOIS identifies itself as the first authorised IB Continuum School in the Czech Republic, allowing students to follow connected IB programmes throughout their schooling. Learning is inquiry-based and includes English, mathematics, sciences, humanities, information technology, visual arts, music, physical education and additional languages. The school community includes approximately 50 staff and families from more than 35 countries. Younger students use nearby locations such as Comenius Park, Ostrava Zoo and the art museum as part of their learning activities. Extracurricular options vary each term and include Lego, dance, cooking and yoga clubs. Students can also participate in school councils, publications and the Duke of Edinburgh programme, providing opportunities for leadership, outdoor activity and community involvement.
