The Ashton School of Santo Domingo is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the accrediting body of Cognia (formerly AdvancedED). As a SACS-accredited school, instruction is provided in English in core subjects and the school prepares students for universities abroad.
Ashton School is a privately owned, independent Dominican/International school in the Dominican Republic serving students from 1 to 18 years old across Pre-Kinder to 12th grade. It operates on two campuses, Santo Domingo and Vistacana (Punta Cana), with instruction delivered in English for core subjects and MINERD-aligned Spanish and Dominican Social Studies. The school offers an American Curriculum with Advanced Placement and a bespoke program, anchored in the U.S. Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, with biblical integration. Ashton is accredited by Cognia and recognized by MINERD. Founded in 1998, the school has grown to approximately 497 students. Facilities include a library and a Dream Maker Lab for hands-on STEM and Maker projects, plus a sports center, gym, cafeteria, swimming pool, a tennis court, and basketball/volleyball courts, with an indoor futsal area to support safe, well-resourced learning across campuses. The program includes AP and Honors courses, Learning Expeditions, and Learning through Internships, and a robust set of clubs such as Model United Nations, National Honor Society, and Debate.
