Saint Joseph School was founded in 1999 to provide the community with an international school that offers quality education in a safe, supporting, and challenging environment enhanced by technology and the contributions of the school community. The Board of Trustees, formed by parents and members of our community, has owned the School since 2004. Saint Joseph School follows a U.S.-type college preparatory curriculum in English, while also complying with the Dominican Ministry of Education by offering a Spanish language and Dominican social studies program. The school also offers a formative program of education in values, physical education, fine arts, computer skills, and other extracurricular activities that serve to complement the academic programs.
The school recognizes the vital role families play in student success and highlights active participation by the SJS Parents Association in the life of the school. The Parents Association contributes to key events and calendar activities, including Meet & Greet and Thanksgiving celebrations, a breast cancer awareness fundraiser, and Welcome to Christmas and Tree Lighting activities. The association also hosts informative talks on addiction prevention and supports initiatives such as the 'Disconnect to Connect' conference by Marc Masip and the launch of the Restart book by Ney Díaz. These efforts demonstrate the community-focused approach that underpins school life.
