Uniform Requirement

The school has a compulsory uniform. Nursery and Reception wear a track suit, BSQ white t-shirt, dark blue or black running shoes, a BSQ Legionary hat and a House T-shirt. Years 1 to 13 wear a navy blue sweater, white polo shirt, grey trousers or grey knee-length skirt, white or blue socks, black shoes, plus a track suit, BSQ white t-shirt, BSQ Legionary hat, a House tie and a House T-shirt. Uniforms can be purchased at El Vellón.

Food Options

The cafeteria provides a healthy, nutritious snack and lunch service with a vegetarian option. The menu is emailed monthly and orders should be submitted by the 28th; students may also bring their own food and microwaves are available in the cafeteria.

House System

There are three houses: Antisana, Cayambe and Illiniza. A House competition runs weekly, and a rewards system includes Star of the Week awards and House points for sporting, academic and artistic endeavours.

BSQ is a British international school serving students aged 3 to 18, located in the Tumbaco valley east of Quito. The school teaches a bi-national curriculum based on the English National Curriculum, integrating British and Ecuadorian strands and offering Cambridge IGCSE as well as the IB Diploma Programme in the secondary years. BSQ is the only authorized Cambridge IGCSE examination centre in Ecuador, and the IB Diploma is delivered in English. The Orbital Education group supports the school with access to UK-trained teachers and global expertise. The campus houses Early Years, Primary and Secondary on one site, with science and technology laboratories, art and music facilities, a library with an auditorium, a semi-Olympic pool, sports courts, and outdoor fields. Enrichment Activities on Wednesdays, the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, and a bilingual environment prepares students for university worldwide. Founded in 1995, BSQ preserves a foundation-led tradition focused on educational development.
