Facilities Overview

BSQ is located in the Tumbaco valley, east of Quito, near Cumbayá and the Ruta Viva motorway, about 20 minutes from the airport. The Early Years, Primary and Secondary sections are all on one campus, set among local flora and fauna with hummingbirds daily visiting. Facilities include a technology lab, science laboratories, art and music facilities, a cafeteria, playgrounds, a semi-Olympic pool, football and volleyball courts, and a central library with an auditorium for assemblies and productions. Our redesigned semi-Olympic pool is in active use by primary students; secondary students will soon have their opportunity, starting swimming classes in the 2023-34 academic year, with plans for an extracurricular swim club.

Sports Facilities

BSQ features a redesigned semi-Olympic pool (American Standard) in active use for primary swimming classes; secondary students will begin swimming classes in the 2023-34 academic year, with plans for an extracurricular swim club. Football and volleyball courts are on-site for student sport. The campus includes outdoor sports fields for a range of physical activities. On-site parking supports transport to and from the facilities.

Academic Facilities

The school provides a technology lab and science laboratories to support science and technology education. Art and music facilities support creative subjects. The central library provides a space for study and includes an auditorium for assemblies and productions. The Early Years, Primary and Secondary sections are all on one campus, enabling integrated learning across year groups.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The school offers enrichment activities after formal lessons, with a weekly Enrichment Activities programme on Wednesdays that changes each term to broaden the timetable. Enrichment clubs focus on artistic development, physical development and academic challenge. The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is part of the extra-curricular programmes.

BSQ is a British international school serving students aged 3 to 18, located in the Tumbaco valley east of Quito. The school teaches a bi-national curriculum based on the English National Curriculum, integrating British and Ecuadorian strands and offering Cambridge IGCSE as well as the IB Diploma Programme in the secondary years. BSQ is the only authorized Cambridge IGCSE examination centre in Ecuador, and the IB Diploma is delivered in English. The Orbital Education group supports the school with access to UK-trained teachers and global expertise. The campus houses Early Years, Primary and Secondary on one site, with science and technology laboratories, art and music facilities, a library with an auditorium, a semi-Olympic pool, sports courts, and outdoor fields. Enrichment Activities on Wednesdays, the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, and a bilingual environment prepares students for university worldwide. Founded in 1995, BSQ preserves a foundation-led tradition focused on educational development.
