Resources and spaces that support learning and development

Facilities Overview

CAH Guayaquil is a laic school with a German educational approach and an emphasis on languages, sciences, and universal democratic values. The science building houses laboratories for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Informatics/Robotics, with modern facilities and educational technology. A robotics laboratory is equipped with Lego Mindstorms, computers, iPads, specialized software, and an interactive screen. Flexible learning spaces and a Lernwerkstatt (Learning Workshop) integrate a library and digital resources to support inquiry, collaboration and autonomy. Classrooms are supported by digital platforms such as itsLearning and Office 365, and a media curriculum enhances digital literacy; the campus also supports bilingual/multilingual language learning in German and English.

Sports Facilities

The sports area offers Football, Athletics, Swimming, Volleyball, Basketball, and Handball. Facilities are first-rate with equipment imported from Germany tailored to each discipline. Extracurricular sports activities include Mini Olimpiadas for lower levels, Bundesjugendspiele, and internal swimming championships, with CAH students also participating in intercollegiate events in the city. Humboldt Games, exclusive to German international schools, are a biannual regional sporting exchange; the school hosted events in Lima in 2025 as part of this tradition.

Academic Facilities

The science facilities include Biology, Chemistry, Physics laboratories and an Informatics/Robotics lab in a modern science building. A Robotics Lab is designed to foster creativity with Lego Mindstorms, computers, iPads, specialized software, and an interactive screen. Flexible classrooms feature ergonomic furniture and environmentally friendly materials imported from Germany to support collaborative learning. The Lernwerkstatt provides a library-based learning environment with a catalog and a substantial collection of texts in German, Spanish and other languages to support research and interdisciplinary study. German language instruction includes DaF (German as a foreign language) and DFU (courses taught in German) across secondary years, with immersion and language proficiency targets (A1–C2 levels) and internationally recognized certificates such as the Deutsches Sprachdiplom and Cambridge offerings.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Extracurricular activities are organized across three areas: sports, cultural, and academic. Enrollment and information are available via the school's contact channels, including phone and online forms. Activities span preschool through Bachillerato levels, with ongoing opportunities for language, cultural, and academic clubs, and guidance from the school for registration. The program includes participation in interschool events and competitions, and the school maintains a structured schedule of clubs and activities to complement the academic program.
