Created in 1967, La Condamine Franco-Ecuadorian High School, whose name actually covers a school, a middle school and a high school, is a binational institution that follows French and Ecuadorian curricula leading to the two baccalaureates. The establishment currently welcomes 1,508 students, of which 900 are in primary school, and teaches students from Petite Section to Terminale. The lycée is a member of the AEFE network, which certifies that teaching aligns with the requirements, programs and pedagogical objectives of the French education system. The AEFE network explains that homologation allows students from homologated institutions to continue their studies in other French institutions without an entrance examination, and that children whose families move between several countries can follow a coherent education from kindergarten to the end of secondary education.
