The school offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities and has extensive sports facilities that enable students to develop their physical potential and enjoy sports in a safe environment. There is a sports partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation. Swimming is provided for all ages as part of the sports program.
English is taught from age 3, and French is offered as a third language. The school uses state-of-the-art technology, including robotics, an iMac laboratory, and augmented reality and virtual reality. The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is offered at all levels.
Extracurricular activities are available for students from 2 years old through high school. We offer a wide variety of activities to complement academics, including soccer (football) and other sports. The program includes international cultural and English programming at St. John's School and Boca Prep International School, InterSEK, White Week, and Green Week.
SEK Los Valles International School in Costa Rica serves students aged 2 to 18. The school offers all three International Baccalaureate programmes—PYP, MYP and DP—alongside a bespoke curriculum. Preschool follows the PYP with inquiry-based learning and English as the everyday language. Primary Education uses the PYP framework with integrated English and French and arts subjects, supported by the iPad project, robotics, and a MAC lab to develop digital literacy. Secondary Education follows the MYP with science, art and languages, and the upper grades offer the Diploma Programme (and the Unified Baccalaureate). The IB experience fosters inquiry, critical thinking, autonomy and an international mindset. Facilities include English from age 3, French as a third language, augmented/virtual reality elements, an iMac lab, and a 360º virtual tour. A Real Madrid Foundation partnership expands the sports program, including swimming. SEK Los Valles joined SEK in 2005 and remains part of a long international network.
