The school sits on a spacious campus in Dokki, Cairo, near the Nile. An upper secondary building was inaugurated in October 2019 by the German Foreign Minister and features modern digital teaching facilities. The DEO offers Kindergarten, Primary School and Gymnasium, with instruction in Arabic and German and foreign languages including English and French. The school was founded in 1873 and has 1,247 students and 102 teachers.
The school has a swimming pool and other sports facilities as part of its DEO campus.
The upper secondary building provides a modern learning environment with digital teaching. The campus supports Kindergarten, Primary School and Gymnasium. Instruction languages are Arabic and German, with foreign languages including English and French. The school awards the Deutsches Internationales Abitur (DIA).
Beach volleyball is offered. The school features arts, concerts and creative activities. It participates in Jugend musiziert – Regionalwettbewerb Kairo West 2026.
