Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Submit an online application: Go to Admission on alsson.com and complete the online application form. Have soft copies of your child's photo, birth certificate, and both parents' ID ready. After your application is processed, the registrar's office will contact you with an assessment date and time.
2. Assessment and potential waiting list: After processing, you will receive an assessment date/time for your child. An invitation to assessment does not guarantee a place, as applicants may be placed on a waiting list until a place becomes available. For Early Years assessments, EY/EC staff assess development against age; for older students, MAP (American) or GL (British) tests are done online in school, with an oral assessment.
3. Testing and interview: Older students undertake MAP (American) or GL (British) tests online in school, along with an oral assessment to determine academic level. If the tests are satisfactory, you will be invited to a final interview with the School Director(s). This interview is the last step before a placement decision.
4. On assessment day and finalization: You must bring your child's original birth certificate and four passport photos to the registrar. If a place is awarded, complete the registration within five working days. Once the required payments are received, your child is onboard and officially enrolled.
5. Information sessions: Attend an information session to learn more about El Alsson NewGiza; check the Open Days page for upcoming dates and links. These sessions provide an overview of the British and American pathways and admissions options.

Waitlist

El Alsson NewGiza is a private international day school in Egypt offering British and American sections on one campus for students aged 3 to 18. The British section delivers IEYC and IPC alongside the UK National Curriculum for Foundation Stage 1 to Year 13. It is an Edexcel and Cambridge examination centre for GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A-Levels, and it underwent British Schools Overseas inspection in October 2021. The American section follows a US program aligned to core standards, including the Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards and the C3 Social Studies Standards; AP courses are available and a US High School Diploma opens doors to universities. Cognia accreditation covers the American programme, and since 2023 the school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The NewGiza campus, opened in 2017, spans 14 feddans and houses both British and American sections with libraries, labs, a theatre and a radio studio globally.
