Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

The school was established in 1982 as a private English school licensed by the Egyptian Ministry of Education. It evolved into El Alsson British International School after becoming an official Edexcel GCSE, AS and A-Levels centre in 2001. In 2006 the American Section was introduced, closing the National Ministry track, and the school became El Alsson British & American International School. In 2017 a new campus opened at NewGiza, spanning 14 feddans, with two schools—the British School and the American School—sharing the site.

Community

Alumni reunions have been held at Haraneya and NewGiza campuses, including a 2022 gathering at NewGiza. The school emphasizes community service as part of its educational philosophy, with activities such as Charity Day. Parent involvement is fostered through a Parent Council relaunched in 2022 to enhance engagement across school life.

Parent-Teacher Association

El Alsson has a Parent Council that was relaunched to increase parent involvement across school life, coordinating enrichment programs, events and activities outside classroom time.
