Gateway is accredited by Cognia (AdvancED) and licensed by the Egyptian Ministry of Education; it is a member of Montessori Educational Programs International (MEPI). Gateway is an IB World School for the Diploma Programme and the Middle Years Programme and is pursuing IB authorization; the school is recognized as a K-12 American School offering the American Diploma.
Gateway International Montessori School is located in Katameya Gardens Compound, New Cairo, Egypt. It offers a blended curriculum that combines Montessori methods in the early years with the American curriculum and International Baccalaureate programs. The school is an IB World School offering MYP and DP, with graduates able to earn an American High School Diploma. English is the language of instruction, and languages include Mandarin, Spanish, and German. The campus supports learning with outdoor work environments attached to classrooms, a commercial kitchen, libraries, a gym, gardens and playgrounds, an indoor pool, tennis courts, a theater, art and music rooms, rooftop gardens, a labyrinth, and science laboratories. Extracurriculars include sports, visual and performing arts, and peace education. The school emphasizes community involvement and offers the MYP Personal Project with community service. Students graduate fluent in multiple languages and are prepared for higher education through Grade 12, up to age 18.
