What the published tuition includes and excludes
- Included: annual tuition and additional service fees (these items are combined in the published tuition figures).
- Excluded (additional costs payable separately): school transport, school uniform, examination fees (IGCSE fees collected by the British Council and Arabic studies examination fees collected by the Ministry of Education), textbooks, non‑educational trips, and canteen.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Instalment due dates as published: 1st instalment due 29 August; 2nd instalment due 31 October; final instalment due 31 January. Tuition must be paid on or before the due date for each term.
- Place confirmation requires payment of the admission/place‑holding fee and the down payment or first instalment before the academic year starts; the financial agreement requires the first instalment (or down payment) to be settled prior to the start of the year.
- Sibling discounts: two siblings — 5% on each; three siblings — 10% on each; four siblings or more — 15% on each. A 5% discount is available for full‑year advance payment.
Assessment of additional fees (uniform, transport, exams, textbooks, trips)
- Uniforms are purchased separately through the school's approved supplier (online store link provided for uniform purchase); uniform costs are additional and vary by item.
- Transport is provided as a separate paid service (school operates a fleet of buses and families apply to use the bus service); transport fees are additional and billed separately.
- Examination fees (IGCSE and Arabic study fees) and textbook fees are charged in addition to the tuition figures and are collected separately.
Boarding
- Boarding is not offered; the school operates as a day school with a transport service for students who require school buses.
Refunds and cancellation
- Assessment fee refund: the assessment fee will be refunded only if Admissions is notified in writing at least 2 days prior to the scheduled assessment.
- Application/paid tuition refunds and timing (financial agreement):
- Student withdrawal prior to the start of the academic year: refunds follow Ministry of Education regulations.
- Before 31 August: full refund of paid tuition fees.
- From 1 September up to the first day of school: 90% refund of paid tuition fees.
- After the start of the school year: paid tuition fees are non‑refundable (refunds only in exceptional cases and in line with local regulations).
- Refunds are processed through the original mode of payment.
Fee payment options and terms
- Online payment options: payments accepted by Visa and MasterCard credit/debit cards in EGP; families receive an invoice payment link and may choose to pay by credit card or use the online instalment option. Refunds are returned via the original payment method.
- Place‑holding payment and instalment options must follow the school Accounts Department schedule; the first instalment or down payment must be received before the academic year starts to guarantee a place.
Discounts and concessions

GEMS British School Al Rehab (GEMS TBS) is a well‑established British international school located in Rehab City, New Cairo. Founded in 2001, it serves around 1,000 students on a campus of just under 9,000 square metres, offering Pre‑School through Year 12.
