1. MCE welcomes enquiries from parents without commitment and invites them to visit the College with their children to learn about the College. Open Days include a presentation by the Headmaster, a campus tour, and a meet‑and‑greet with the Head of School. Families should schedule a prior appointment to tour on a mutually convenient date and time.
2. The first step to admissions is to submit the online application through admission.malverncollege.edu.eg. No further steps are possible until this stage is complete. After submission, families receive a phone call or email to arrange the assessment appointment. Students are considered for admission according to age appropriateness for the year of entry.
3. Application submission is followed by an assessment and interview set by the admissions office. Shortly after applying online, parents are contacted by phone or email to arrange the assessment. A member of the College Leadership Team will meet with the parents and students to discuss questions and outline what the College offers.
4. On the day of the assessment, the following documents are required: copy of the pupil's latest Academic Report Cards from the last two years; two original Birth Certificates / Copy of Foreign Birth Certificate; 10x passport size photos; copies of the child's and parents' IDs and Passports; and copies of vaccination records (Pre‑Nursery to Year 5). Applications and assessments are not passed on to the Head of Stage unless all documents are submitted. These documents are essential to the admissions procedure.
5. The assessments are as follows for entry: Early Years (Pre‑Nursery, Nursery and Reception): Group Assessment in a classroom setting; Years 1, 2 and 3: Reading, Written English & Maths test; Years 4 and 5: Cognitive Ability Test (CAT4) online computer test and an additional writing paper; Years 6–12/13: CAT4 online computer test followed by a written comprehension and essay test. There is no fixed syllabus for any of these written and computer assessments and they follow a multiple choice question paper pattern. Calculators are not permitted. Marks from the written and computer assessments, along with the past two years' school reports, determine admission. A member of the College Leadership Team will arrange to meet with the parents and students to discuss questions and outline what the College offers.
6. A parents meeting is arranged with all families applying to join the College. Parents receive a formal email that includes results on the child(ren)'s assessment within 1 week, informing you whether your application has been successful. To preserve the integrity of the admissions policy, all applications are fairly and compassionately considered on the child(ren)'s merits.
7. If your child is offered a place at the College and you wish to accept it, parents are encouraged to pay the one‑time non‑refundable registration fee within one week of receiving the admissions Enrolment Offer Letter. Failure to do so will render the seat cancelled and offered to the candidate next on the waiting list.
8. Re‑assessments are by invitation only and decisions on re‑assessment are based on the levels attained at the initial assessment. If your child is offered a re‑assessment, your child will be asked to appear for the retest after a minimum of one month from the initial test. This will be offered free of cost. If your child is not offered a re‑assessment, you may apply next academic year.
9. On being granted admission, parents are handed the welcome pack and are required to submit the following: a Pupil Application pack that includes the College terms and conditions; Pupil Pick up Form; Pupil Bus Form.
If a place is not accepted, the seat is offered to the candidate next on the waiting list. This waiting list approach helps allocate available spaces to applicants in order of availability and merit, ensuring that seats are filled in a fair sequence.
Malvern College Egypt is a British international school delivering the English National Curriculum from Pre-Nursery to Upper Sixth. It offers Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS and A Levels, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Sixth Form. Ages range from 18 months to 18 years, and English is the language of instruction with French taught from Year 1. Examinations include IGCSE, AS/A Level or IB, with Egyptian MoE assessments sat in Year 12. The school publishes Schemes of Learning for every year group.
