The school has a formal uniform policy. Uniforms are worn at school or when representing MES Cairo. Uniforms can be purchased from the school uniform shop (open Sunday–Thursday until 3:30 pm and Saturday until 1:00 pm) or online via the Parent Portal; the MES Cairo House Polo Shirt must be worn for house events and alternatives are not permitted.
Canteen arrangements: Canteen services will continue to be available to students in KS2 and Secondary, but with a reduced menu. Set menu boxes cost 50 LE per box and include a main item (pizza, sandwich, pasta or rice with protein), a fruit or vegetable option, and a drink.
MES Cairo uses a House Spirit system. Students wear a MES Cairo House Polo Shirt for house events, and alternatives to the House polo shirt are not permitted.
The school is governed by a Board of Directors. The Chairman of the Board is Mrs Sawsan Dajani and the Managing Director is Ghada Dajani.
Modern English School Cairo is a purpose-built, multi-curriculum international school located in New Cairo. It admits students aged 3 to 18 and offers a choice of British Curriculum pathways (Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Levels, Cambridge A Levels), the American Curriculum, and the IB Diploma Programme. Early Years follows play-based learning, with later progression to Key Stages under the English National Curriculum, adapted for local context and international culture. In Secondary, families can follow the British route (KS3 with GCSE/IGCSE, then AS/A Levels) or the American route (Middle School to High School Diploma). At Year 10, the International Baccalaureate DP can be pursued for graduation. The school sits on a purpose-built campus in New Cairo with green spaces, a central 400-seat theatre, and specialist facilities for Science, Art, Music, Dance, Computing and Design Technology. Extensive sports facilities accompany a broad enrichment program, including ASAs, trips, productions, and the International Award.
