History

Nefertari International School started to operate in August 1996. The establishment came with a dream of providing high quality of education in a distinguished teaching and learning environment. The name “Nefertari” honors the historically educated queen known for literacy, arts, and influence. The school has grown steadily in student numbers and in the diversity of educational programs, expanding into multiple divisions and branches over the years.

Community

The NIS community is built around collaboration among students, families and staff as the school grows and expands across its branches. Parents are encouraged to attend events and participate in school life, reflecting the school's emphasis on involvement and a safe, engaged learning environment. The school supports parental involvement through policies and communications designed to foster dialogue, feedback and shared responsibility for student success. The school uses diverse channels to keep parents informed about calendars, events and student progress, including the website, messages, emails, letters, conferences and Classera.

Parent-Teacher Association

The PTA is an organization that consists of volunteer parents and teachers working together to create a stronger and more effective school for everyone. The goals of the PTA are to foster a strong relationship between parents and staff, to hear and discuss comments, suggestions and complaints, and to find solutions and implement new ideas to improve the school. There are two Parent-Teacher Meetings during the school year. Parental visitation is allowed by scheduling a meeting in advance. The school shall form a Parent-Teacher Association to build effective cooperation between home and school, and its members are expected to actively participate in supporting the school's mission and achieving its goals.

Established in 1996, the school honors the queen Nefertari, famed for literacy, arts, and influence, and has grown to provide diverse learning pathways. The curriculum spans IGCSE, American, British, French, German, and the IB Diploma Program, supporting students from early years through pre-university study. The campus features smart-board classrooms for 15–30 students, science laboratories, two computer labs, and two libraries, plus a KG video/playroom, a music room, and art workshops. Sports facilities include a handball court, football pitches, volleyball and basketball courts, and a gym, with an on-site health clinic and campus canteen. Extracurriculars are grouped into Sports, Arts and Design, Music, and Skills, promoting leadership, collaboration, and creative inquiry.
