New Cairo British International School (NCBIS) is a not-for-profit school established in 1978 serving children aged 3 to 17. It delivers a bespoke curriculum: the English National Curriculum in Primary and GCSE/IGCSE in Secondary, with Sixth Form offering UK A Levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It operates under the Heliopolis Society for the Cultural and Social Care of English Speaking Foreigners and is governed by a parent-elected Board. Its Primary program uses project- and inquiry-based learning across three themes—STEM, environment, and International Mindedness—while Secondary follows an adapted British Curriculum in Years 7-9 and prepares students for Years 10-11. By 2027, it aims to be Cairo's first choice, delivering experiences that empower students as citizens. Facilities include two pitches, a grass football field, covered courts, a 25m pool and learner pool, a Sport Science classroom, and BYOD with Google tools. The community spans more than 70 nationalities.
