History

New Horizon International School was established in 1993 to serve as a contribution to the Egyptian & the multi-national society in Cairo-Egypt. The school is an English medium institute hosting students from Kindergarten levels through Secondary years, offering the British and Egyptian curricula. Students attain the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE), which allows them to enter universities located in Egypt and worldwide. The school is a regular member of the European Council of International Schools and is licensed by the Egyptian Ministry of Education, the Cambridge International Examinations Board and the Edexcel International London Examinations Board in the United Kingdom to deliver the IGCSE programme.

Community

Campus Life + Community Outreach includes activities such as the Student Council and HAMSA Peace Programme. The Student Council is elected every year by the students and for the students of New Horizon International School, representing the class throughout the scholastic year. The HAMSA Peace Programme promotes peace education for young learners and is part of the school's peace culture initiatives.

Parent-Teacher Association

Parent – Teacher Council (PTC) brings together Parents and School staff to share ideas and insights on how to make our children's educational experience nurturing, exciting and wholesome, and then, together we set out to make it happen. The PTC continues to add to children's happiness and development, bringing the spirit of goodwill and harmony throughout our school community. New Horizon School administration received extensive support from our dear Parents who helped with activities including: the student board elections, International Day, Science fair, Talent show, preparing an agenda for upcoming school year activities, a school-wide leadership and life skills program based on 'the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens' and 'The Leader in Me', Family outings & trips, Story time & activities for the younger classes, Book fair, Art & photography shows/competitions, Career day, and Environmental awareness day.

New Horizon International School is an English-medium day school in Cairo, Egypt offering the British curriculum alongside Egyptian studies for a diverse student body aged 4 to 18. The International Department prepares students for Cambridge IGCSE and Edexcel qualifications, starting at Reception and progressing to Lower Senior Two before the Core IG programme leads to IGCSE results. In addition to Arabic, Religion and Social Studies under the Egyptian National Curriculum, French is taught as a second language from Reception.
