HAMSA Peace Programme provides peace education to instill ethics and values for global peace. The Peace Culture Programme emphasises humanity, positivity, non-violent communication, compassion, understanding and wisdom in decision making. Heart to Heart Programme extends peace education through international youth engagement, including participation in events like the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The Self-Awareness Programme, launched in 2007, covers self-discipline and respect, yoga practice, effective resolution of daily challenges, non-violence, hygiene and nutrition, well-rounded physical and emotional health, creative attention, concentration and relaxation techniques. Extra-curricular activities offer a range of pursuits, including guitar, dance, etiquette, drama, jazz, yoga and mindfulness, gardening, arts and crafts, all delivered by trained professionals. The Student Council is elected annually by the students and represents the student body, developing responsibility, listening skills, and leadership for the school community and beyond.
The International Department follows the British curriculum preparing students for the IGCSE. The Department starts at Reception level and continues through Lower Senior Two, a ten-year span. After Lower Senior Two, students continue onto the Core IG programme to obtain the IGCSE qualification. Egyptian students must complete Arabic, Religion, and Social Studies as provided by the Egyptian National Curriculum, and French is taught as a second language from Reception. Incoming transfer students must complete entrance tests in English language and Mathematics conducted by New Horizon. The IGCSE programme has been provided since 1998 and is accredited by Cambridge International Examinations and Edexcel International London Examinations; Both accreditations are under license of the Egyptian Ministry of Education and supervised by the British Council in Cairo. The Cambridge Beacon School Award recognises quality and ongoing excellence in the programme.
