The school runs a robotics program built around FIRST LEGO League. Teams meet after school on Thursdays and Saturdays for four-hour sessions to design, build and program robots. In March 2018, 133 teams competed from around Egypt and NIS competed alongside 30 other private schools, and NIS was recognized in the Gracious Professionalism category. Coding is taught as part of the curriculum for grades 3 to 8 with hands-on, tiered project work and participation in the Hour of Code in December.
Model United Nations is a cornerstone of NIS leadership and global citizenship. Students participate in international conferences including GeMUN 2014, NHSMUN 2015, and SAIMUN 2016. GeMUN 2014 is a three-day UN simulation with multiple committees that teaches negotiation and diplomacy, while NHSMUN 2015 was a large conference in New York with Egyptian delegates in several committees. SAIMUN 2016 brought participation in diverse committees addressing global issues.
The athletics program includes soccer for both boys and girls. The program aims to keep students healthy, active, and happy, with a focus on self-discipline and hard work from a young age. The Girls Soccer program is especially successful, featuring the Play Hard and Have Fun motto and earning an AIMZ Bronze Medal along with multiple trips to the Girls Soccer Tournament.
Model United Nations participation builds leadership, public speaking, and research skills. NIS promotes a healthy and active lifestyle through its athletics program, emphasizing discipline and dedication. The Soccer teams, both Boys and Girls, participate in league play and tournaments, reinforcing teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. NIS Schools is a multi-campus network in Egypt delivering five curricular streams: American, British, French, National English, and the International Baccalaureate. Serving students from ages 3 to 18, the network operates campuses in Nasr City, 1st Settlement, Shorouk, Porto Said, New Capital All Girls International School, New Capital National School Campus, and 6th of October, a seventh campus opened in 2022, bringing seven campuses by September 2022. First Settlement campus is authorized for the IB Programme, while Shorouk is a Diploma Programme candidate, underscoring institution's international alignment.
