NIS operates a behavior management program that reinforces appropriate interpersonal skills and social behavior with a positive, non-adversarial approach. Counseling services focus on anger management, relaxation techniques, self-control, and self-esteem. Students learn their roles and responsibilities as citizens and the positive impact they can have in the wider community. Instruction teaches how students can access community and public services and resources to function successfully outside the school setting. Parental involvement is encouraged through open houses, awards ceremonies, and monthly advisory meetings. The program includes school-wide and classroom standards, intervention techniques, social skills, and character education, with ongoing staff development and data-informed progress monitoring.
The National English System provides English language instruction across grades with emphasis on speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The English program uses dialogues and cross-curricular materials to connect language learning to students' lives. Technology is integrated, with interactive whiteboard materials and videos supporting language practice. The curriculum aims to give all learners a solid knowledge of English structure and context. The program is designed to support learners who are not daily exposed to English.
