Saxony International School Cairo West is a German international school and kindergarten in Cairo that follows an innovative German curriculum alongside the IB Diploma Programme. The IB DP is offered after Grade 11 and 12 and is taught in German; it is equivalent to the Abitur and enables access to German universities. In cooperation with Germany, Abitur can be completed at SIS grammar schools in Germany, with opportunities for exchanges. The school is part of the Saxony International School network, rooted in Germany since 2009 and in Cairo since 2021 as the first SIS abroad to offer the curriculum. The learning concept is built on pillars including social competence, media competence, business competence, foreign languages, general education, and holistic education.
