Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
1. Submit all application requirements by email or in person. This action initiates the Schutz American School admissions process. The next step involves a student assessment and parent interview.
2. Visit SAS for student assessment and parent interview. Prekindergarten and kindergarten applicants meet with an SAS educator. Grade 1-12 applicants take the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment in math and reading. Parents meet with the divisional principal.
3. Admissions Team reviews application and assessment results. Further information may be requested as needed. This step determines whether the applicant advances toward an admission decision. The decision will move to step 4.
4. Admissions Coordinator notifies family of admissions decision. If accepted, family receives an offer of acceptance. The notice is sent to the family.
5. Family accepts the Enrollment acceptance or declines in writing by email to the Admission Coordinator. To secure the space, the registration fee must be paid within one month of acceptance. If the registration fee is not received by the deadline, the acceptance will be rescinded.
6. Further information is shared by the Admissions Office regarding orientation and the start of school, and by the Finance Office regarding tuition and fees. Families receive communications detailing next steps. The information helps families prepare for the start of the school year.
Schutz American School offers a U.S.-based, college-preparatory education for students from Early Childhood through Grade 12. Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, it is an IB World School certified for PYP and MYP. The high school Pathway Program emphasizes growth through co-curricular work; growth projects for grades 9–12 are not graded and may involve clubs, internships, or service activities. Graduation outcomes show that 100% of graduates enroll in four-year colleges in the United States, the United Kingdom/Europe, Canada, and Egypt/MENA. Founded in 1924, Schutz embodies community with the motto Schutz Family. The campus includes one-to-one devices, an Early Childhood Learning Center, art studios with a kiln, a black-box theater, a large auditorium, and libraries with access to Bibliotheca Alexandrina. STEM facilities include a design and engineering lab with a 3D printer and dedicated science labs; and a fiber-optic network supports digital learning throughout the learning journey.
