Introduction

The International School of Egypt is a private international school offering two curricular pathways: the American Diploma and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The school serves students aged 3 to 18 and provides a continuous learning continuum from early years through high school. The Diploma Programme is a two-year course of study for students typically aged 16 to 18, with six subjects (three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level) and core components including Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and the Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) program. Students may pursue the full IB Diploma or register for individual IB courses, with decisions guided by parents, teachers, the school counsellor, and the DP Coordinator. The school is fully accredited by Cognia (AdvancED) and is an IB World School, with a university counsellor to support higher education progression. ISE has been providing American and IB education since 2009 globally.

Fees
Application and re-enrolment fees

- No fixed application fee amount or published enrolment-deposit amount is publicly available for ISE.
- A re-enrolment fee is required to secure a place for the next academic year; the re-enrolment fee is deducted from the first-term invoice and must be paid by the deadline. The school requires the re-enrolment fee to be paid in cash or by check at the school business office.

Tuition fees by year group and per term

- The International School of Egypt does not publish a public, grade-by-grade tuition table on its publicly accessible fee page; full per-term and per-year tuition amounts by year group are not available on public pages. An external school-directory listing shows a general starting figure of about EGP 57,000 but does not provide a full grade-by-grade breakdown.
- Where tuition amounts are provided to families, they are invoiced in installments as described below (so parents receive term invoices rather than a single online grade-by-grade table).

Billing schedule and payment terms

- The annual tuition is invoiced in three instalments for the academic year cycle shown:
- First instalment: August 1, 2025.
- Second instalment: November 1, 2025.
- Third instalment: February 1, 2026.
- The re-enrolment fee must be paid before the stated deadline to secure your child's place for the next academic year; if it is not paid by the deadline the school may assume the place is not required and the place may be offered to another student. The re-enrolment fee is deducted from the first-term invoice. Payment of the re-enrolment fee is by cash or check at the school business office.

Boarding fees

- The school operates as a day school (standard school day shown and a school-bus service is available); no boarding programme or boarding fees are published for ISE.

Other costs and typical additional charges

- Uniforms: the school operates an on-campus school uniform shop (open weekdays 08:00–14:00); uniform items are sold on campus but no public price list is posted. Parents should budget for standard uniform purchases.
- School lunches: school-provided lunches are available for an additional charge.
- Transportation: a school bus service is available; transportation is typically charged separately (transport fees are not published on the public fee page).
- External exam and activity charges: costs such as external examination fees, optional trips, or some extracurricular activity fees are commonly charged in addition to tuition at international schools; ISE's publicly posted fees material does not include a detailed list of these specific ancillary charges.

Refund information

- No detailed public refund policy or full fee-refund schedule is published on the school's public fee page; the only published payment-specific statement indicates that the re-enrolment fee is deducted from the first-term fee. For specific refund rules (timing, pro rata calculations, conditions for refund) no public figures or a formal published refund schedule are available.

Fee payment options and banking details

- Accepted payment methods listed are:
- Cash at the ISE business office.
- Visa at the ISE business office (a surcharge of 0.5% is applied to Visa payments made at the business office).
- Bank transfer to the school's accounts. Parents are requested to send a copy of the transfer receipt by email (attention Ms. Engy Hanna) and to include student name(s) and grade(s) on the transfer receipt. Listed bank account details include EGP and USD accounts at Credit Agricole Egypt and an EGP account with CIB (account numbers, SWIFT and IBAN shown on the school's payment information).

Summary of available and missing fee information

- Available and definitive items you can record for a parent database:
- Instalment billing schedule (dates for the three instalments).
- Re-enrolment fee requirement and deduction from the first-term invoice; method for paying re-enrolment fee (cash/check at business office).
- Accepted payment methods and bank-account details (Cash, Visa with 0.5% surcharge, bank transfer with accounts listed).
- Uniform sold on campus (uniform shop hours).
- School bus service and paid lunches are available.

- Missing from publicly posted material (so cannot be provided as fixed figures in this summary):
- A full grade-by-grade tuition schedule with per-term and per-year amounts for 2026/27 (or 2025/26) is not published on the school's public fee page; the school's fees are therefore not available as a complete public table. An external directory lists a general “fees start from” figure of approximately EGP 57,000 but does not supply the required per-grade, per-term breakdown.

Academics

The International School of Egypt teaches American Curriculum, IB (DP) for students aged 3 to 18.

Curriculum

The International School of Egypt offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) as its core curriculum. The Diploma Programme is a two-year program designed for young people between 16 and 18 years, with external examinations at the end of Grade 12. Students select six subjects, three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level; all courses are offered at HL and SL. The IBDP includes Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and the Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) program. Students may pursue the full IB Diploma or register for individual IB courses; the path is decided in consultation with parents, teachers, school counsellor, and the DP Coordinator. There is also an American Diploma Program option for certain students, and the school provides a university counsellor to support progression to higher education.

Higher Education Progression

The school provides university counselling to support progression to higher education.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

ISE emphasizes the development of intellectual, social, emotional, and physical skills through the IB Diploma Programme. It aims to provide a positive and healthy learning environment that supports learners to achieve their best results. Approaches to Learning (ATL) include self-management, social, communication, thinking, and research, underpinning students' social and emotional growth. ISE supports maintaining students' mother tongue and gaining proficiency in additional languages to foster intercultural understanding. The environment and programs are designed to nurture social and emotional development as part of a holistic education.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

ISE makes the IB Diploma Programme available to all students in grades 11 and 12. The school aims to provide a positive and healthy learning environment to meet learners' needs and encourage them to achieve the best results. All students with different educational needs are supported by school staff to achieve their best potentials and personal targets. Qualified teachers create and implement classroom strategies to satisfy the needs of SEN students, and SEN students should have an opportunity to be recognized and receive support and guidance from staff. A clear and consistent communication process is established between IBDP staff and SEN students/parents.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The language of instruction is English. The majority of ISE students speak native-level Arabic, and Arabic language courses are offered; Arabic Language B is provided for DP, and Arabic teachers are required to give support classes to students facing difficulties. Students who need English support have an opportunity to take extra classes with their English teachers during their free time. ISE highly supports the maintenance of students' mother tongue and gaining proficiency in additional languages, to foster intercultural understanding. Official communication with stakeholders is conducted in English, with Arabic translations for key documents as needed.

Mental Wellbeing

The IB Diploma Programme is designed to develop the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical skills of students, supporting personal well‑being. The learner profile emphasizes Balanced, which highlights the importance of intellectual, physical, and emotional balance to achieve personal well-being. ISE provides a positive and healthy learning environment that supports learners' needs and personal growth. Policies on e-safety recognize safeguarding and the risks related to online platforms, including mental health considerations. The school integrates these aspects into pastoral support and ongoing practices to promote student wellbeing.

Safeguarding

ISE maintains safeguarding policies to protect students and their welfare. E-safety and Social Media Policy addresses safeguarding and online safety, outlining risks and responsible use of digital platforms. The Inclusion Policy commits to a positive and healthy learning environment and to clear communication between staff, students, and parents. The Language Policy emphasizes a safe and supportive environment for language development. Parental Complaints Policy provides a confidential process to raise safeguarding-related concerns. Together, staff, students, and families uphold safeguarding commitments to protect student welfare.

Admissions

Admissions

1- Online Application. The school accepts online applications and there is no application deadline; however, the admission process should be initiated early. Applications are accepted but place offers are granted based on spaces available throughout the school year. The online form must be filled correctly and accurately; the application cannot be processed if information or requirements do not comply with ISE admissions criteria. If places are available, age-based assessments are conducted for each applicant.

2- School Admissions. Applicants submit the required documents, and the Admissions Office sets an appointment for an assessment and a parent interview on the same day. For Pre-K and KG1, a Nursery report must be submitted with the application form. For transfers, a copy of the reports for the last two years and a Behavioral Letter (letter of good conduct) from the current school are required.

3- Student's Assessment. Applicants are assessed according to the grade level they are applying for. An invitation for assessment does not guarantee an offer of a place.

4- Assessment Fees. There is a 2000 EGP assessment fee that must be paid on the morning of the assessment in the business office.

5- Assessment Results. Parents are notified within five working days after testing whether the student has met admissions standards.

6- Enrollment and Registration. A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of 10,000 EGP is due within five working days from acceptance notification to reserve a place for the following year.

7- Required Documents after Acceptance. The following documents should be submitted to the Student Affairs Officer after registration and before August 1: 6 copies of a recent colored photograph (passport size); an original electronic birth certificate (Egyptians only); a copy of the passport (foreigners only); copies of both parents' IDs; vaccination certificate; original year-end reports for the past two years (including the most recent report from the current school); confidential letter of good conduct from the most recent school; study sequence certificate; and 4 transfer letters from the current school.
