1) Applications are submitted through the spring joint application (Yhteishaku) from February 17 to March 17, 2026, electronically at opintopolku.fi. The deadline is 15:00 on the last day. There are 135 places for the autumn 2026 intake. 2) In addition to the joint application, complete the Lyseon lukio ainevalintakortti and send it to the school by the deadline by post or email. Joensuun kaupungin yläkoululaiset enter their subject choices in Wilm according to their OPO instructions; the ainevalintakortti is filled for the first-choice option only. For the IB line, no subject selections are made at the application stage. 3) IB line applications use the joint application on Opintopolku. Selection is based on the weighted average of basic education grades, with English and mathematics weighted by 2; the minimum is 8.0. The preparatory class admits 27 students, and the results are announced in June. 4) Admitted Lyseon lukio students receive an email from Opintopolku and an acceptance letter with further instructions.
